On-Air Personality

Born: On the shores of Puget Sound in West Seattle, Washington. My playground was on the clam beds at low tide and in my Styrofoam boat at high tide. Learned to fish for flounder in shallow water standing up in a row boat with a ski pole! 

Little known facts: I love bugs ? every possible kind (winged, legged, legless ? no matter). Our house is by mandate a bug haven. This means that the occasional unwanted pest is always escorted out in a glass and never, EVER squashed. The others are left alone to be admired.

Personal Heroes: My dad (entrepreneur, pilot and forever optimist); Yo Yo Ma who managed the impossible ? to float across the ice at the opening of the 2002 Winter Olympics playing his cello!

Scariest thing I?ve ever done: Surviving the experience of paddling down the Sauk River in a rubber raft which was snagged by a downed fir tree causing all the gear and nine people to be washed out while the rest of us somehow managed, even with millions of gallon of water gushing through the raft, to wiggle out of danger and float to calmer waters -- absolutely exhausted.

Biggest Pet Peeve: Drivers who fail to show their appreciation and just roar by me when I?ve volunteered to pull aside and wait on roads where there?s only room for one car (all it takes is a little wave of the hand for crying out loud!)

If I wasn?t in radio I?d be: Promoting Classical music some other way!

Biggest challenge: Thinking on my feet while on the air, especially when something goes wrong!!!
