Wenatchee residents woke up this morning

to hazy skies and a smoke plume to the north. Fire crews battled a fire engulfing a large collection of wood

on the property of Rocky Reach Dam. Chelan County Fire District One Acting Chief Jordan Kunz told KOHO the fire

touched off just after three this morning, and consumed flammable material on a vacant portion of Dam land called

the “boneyard”. Fire officials chose to let the pile burn and douse out hot spots as needed,

because there was no danger of the burn spreading.

No one was injured nor property

destroyed in the firefight.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

KOHO’s Clint

Strand talked to Kunz about the firefight on the KOHO Morning Show about the firefight.
