Chelan County Public Works Director, Jolene Goslin Campbell says the West Monitor Bridge deterioration was far worse than originally believed. Campbell says crews working to replace the 100-year-old span across the Wenatchee River found more corrosion than anticipated. Campbell says the delays and extra work shouldn’t impact significantly the cost of the project since the contract came in over 400-thousand dollars under the engineer’s estimate. The County is now targeting a March bridge re-opening.
