style="font-size: 14pt;">Lots of fenderbenders during the morning and evening commutes in the Wenatchee valley

Monday. One of those last night snarled up traffic along US 2 and sent a prominent Wenatchee businessman to

the hospital with a broken neck.

The accident happened yesterday afternoon on Highway 2 about a

mile west of Wenatchee. A State Patrol report says a Ford Expedition driven eastbound by 28 year old Enedina

Quezada of Wenatchee crossed the center line colliding with a westbound SUV driven by 64 year old James Baxter of

Cashmere. Baxter suffered a broken neck and was transported to Central Washington Hospital along with his

passenger, 66 year old Hazel Baxter of Cashmere. Quezada was trated for neck pain and then

released. Baxter is well known in the Wenatchee business community, the former owner of Go-Bent Bikes and

spokesman for the Alcoa Wenatchee Works smelter.  Hospital spokeswoman Kathy Hamilton reported shortly before

9 am that both Baxter and his Wife Hazel are in satisfactory condition.
