Link transit bus service to Plain and Lake Wenatchee will continue for now. But the future of the scheduled route going forward will depend on grant funding. Link Transit spokesman, Eric West says the agency’s board of directors have authorized staff to pursue another two year State grant to replace the funding which expires next Spring.

West says since its inception three years ago the route 37 service to Lake Wenatchee and Plain has fallen short of its minimum ridership performance standards. . .(Click arrow above for audio)

The Board’s action followed a public hearing at their Tuesday meeting. West added that the agency’s public outreach effort moves Friday to the Leavenworth library. He says the District is looking for input on a variety of topics not least of which involves possible budget and service cuts next year. The public meeting will be held betweew noon and 2 pm.
