Chelan County Port District’s decision last week to purchase the Morse Steel property along Wenatchee's waterfront came unexpectedly according to one insider. The three-member commission voted last Thursday to proceed with the 1.33 million dollar purchase after meeting with staff in private session. The next question is if the Wenatchee City Council will agree to partner with the Port in developing the Pybus Public Market.
