Washington’s Hanford Nuclear Reservation contains the radioactive waste of the Cold War nuclear arms race. It has been an incredibly expensive project to clean up and contain so far. Now a new report from the Government Accountability Office questions the sense of spending far more than originally estimated to remove underground nuclear storage tanks.
