A big pot bust up the Tumwater Tuesday…

style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Officials from the Chelan County Sheriff’s

Office, Columbia River Drug Task Force, Washington State Patrol, and others took around 3,350 pot plants, three to

four feet tall in the Tumwater Canyon. Chelan County Sheriff Mike Harum said authorities had their eye on

this grow since early August.

style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Harum said it looks like growers abandoned the pot

operation weeks ago, and thinks there’s a pretty good reason for that, since a related grow site was also

recently raided.

Harum added the area is

heading into the marijuana harvest season, so if you’re a hunter or hiker who stumbles on a grow operation,

do the smart thing and get out of there.

The CCSO

also took out 4,756 plants in the Preston Creek area, up the Entiat River drainage that same day. They

believe the two are connected.
