FBI aid sought in Texas probe of unarmed black man shot dead by police

The FBI has been asked to aid the investigation into the shooting death of an unarmed black man by a white officer in Arlington, Texas, the city's police chief told reporters on Saturday. Arlington police officer Brad Miller, 49, responded early on Friday to a call about a burglary in progress at a car dealership. After an altercation, Miller shot Christian Taylor, a black teen who played football at a Texas college.

A police officer in suburban Dallas shot and killed Taylor, a Angelo State University football player during a struggle after the unarmed 19-year-old crashed a car through the front window of a car dealership, authorities said Friday, Aug. 7, 2015. Officers were responding to a burglary call in Arlington when they discovered someone had driven a vehicle through a front window of the Classic Buick GMC, according to a statement from the Arlington Police Department. The statement said police approached the suspect and a struggle ensued. At some point during the struggle, an officer shot Taylor. (Angelo State University via AP)ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — An unarmed college football player was shot dead at a suburban Dallas car dealership by a trainee police officer during a middle-of-the-night burglary call. The death of 19-year-old Christian Taylor has raised some of the same questions as other recent police shootings involving unarmed suspects.
